Power Tuning Spring Selection Guide for Pistelle X-68 and FSC Platforms

A tuning spring changes preload, valve timing, and the mechanical force applied during a firing cycle. Spring selection should be based on measured dimensions and verified platform testing, not appearance alone.

Pistelle X-68 and IntruBuster Spring Program

AR Tactical’s current measured program covers the Pistelle X-68 and IntruBuster Gen 1 and Gen 2. The stock-dimension spring is approximately 60 mm long, 22 mm outside diameter, and uses 1.6 mm wire. The AR Power versions use 1.8 mm wire.

50 mm Power Spring

The 50 mm × approximately 22 mm × 1.8 mm spring is AR Tactical’s CO2-oriented recommendation for compatible Pistelle X-68 and IntruBuster configurations. The shorter length can change preload and cycling characteristics, so seal condition and launcher function must be checked after installation.

60 mm Power Spring

The 60 mm × approximately 22 mm × 1.8 mm spring is AR Tactical’s HPA-oriented recommendation for those same verified platforms. HPA regulator output must still remain within the launcher and component limits. A stronger spring does not make an unsafe pressure setting acceptable.

Important FSC Compatibility Limitation

Do not assume a Pistelle X-68 spring fits an FSC because the dimensions appear similar. FSC fitment must be verified for the exact spring and launcher configuration. Guide diameter, preload, coil bind, valve timing, internal clearances, and generation-specific parts can differ. AR Tactical does not recommend an unverified cross-platform spring installation.

Post-Installation Checks

After installation, verify that the launcher cycles freely, the spring does not bind, the valve resets, and no parts show abnormal wear. Chronograph the launcher with the intended air source and projectile. Stop using the setup if there is valve sticking, inconsistent cycling, excessive pressure, or seal damage.

Compatibility confidence matters: documented or directly verified fitment should be separated from assumptions and pending tests.
